- What: The Broadcast Alerts (BCA) tool is a powerful new feature which leverages the standard Dynamics AX Alerts framework. With this tool, you can send alerts to all users, or groups of users, with urgent messages for those who are logged on. You can also save messages for frequent use, and create groups of users to send messages to. This allows flexible broadcast management, and prompt access, for times when urgency is key.
- When: You wish you could send a message to all the users through AX.
- Why: Notify users without having to phone each of them, use general email or just take the system down without notifying them.
- Examples:
(1) Notify users of service maintenance and that the server will be unavailable.
(2) Notify a group of users that a new report has been made available.
