- What: The Exchange Rates Tool (XCH) enhances the Dynamics AX currency and exchange rate functionality.
- Live exchange rates for currencies can be pulled automatically from a web service* (such as XE and Xignite, which are supported out-of-the-box), at a frequency that can be configured to suit your business needs.
- Exchange rates for foreign currency journal transactions can be fetched for specific dates, if a rate doesn't already exist in Dynamics AX, improving accuracy.
- Currencies are more easily identified, using vibrant flag icons.
- New currency records can be created automatically in Dynamics AX, from a list of available online currencies*, and can inherit the ledger settings of existing currencies.
(* Most currency web services require a subscription.) - When: You wish you didn’t have to type in the currency exchange rates every day. You wish you could get the latest spot rate when entering a journal.
